PANELS

Phonotamburato®

The Phonotamburato® is a sound-absorbing panel which, thanks to its properties, allows sound absorption (reducing reverberation inside the rooms) and insulation (preventing the sound from leaving a particular room). Our panel is the first perforated structural panel in the market containing rock wool inside. In this way, the panel has three specific functions: sound absorption (if perforated), thermal and acoustic insulation. The panels are fireproof and waterproof and also allow the thermal insulation of the rooms. Depending on the sound-absorbing characteristics of Phonotamburato panels, there are three distinctive elements that guarantee them: the thickness (which also involves several layers of fibers), the number of holes and their arrangement (square, crossed, hexagonal, triangular design).

TECHNICAL ASPECTS

acoustic absorption

The panels in natural and inorganic materials (wood, plaster, metals, etc.) guarantee sound absorption based on their elasticity. The incident sound waves create a series of pressures and depressions that cause an imperceptible, but significant inflection of the panel towards the wall, causing it to vibrate. The characteristics of this model, according to the international standards in force, are analyzed with a method called "Helmholtz resonator" (in Hz), through which the test on the sound-absorbing panel reacts as a vibrating mass and, at the same time, the air contained in the cavity intended for absorption, is like an acoustic spring characterized by its rigidity.

The reduction of reflected energy takes place by adopting the surface finishes of the surrounding elements of the environment (walls, ceilings and floors) which have characteristics that favor the absorption of noise, equipped with a high sound absorption coefficient.

We at Floema Group want to offer the best quality. This is why our products are checked and certified by accredited and internationally recognized bodies. Click here to download the document certifying the acoustic characteristics of our panels.

Thermal and acoustic insulation

Compliance with certain thermal insulation values is a precise legal requirement in new buildings and in some renovations. When we choose a door, we do not think only of orienting ourselves in the choice of the "security" parameter - for example the choice of an armored door - but we choose one that is also well thermally insulated. The goal of effective acoustic and thermal insulation of a room is to guarantee an optimal temperature inside and a reduction in noise from the outside or from nearby environments, managing to obtain a sensation of thermohygrometric comfort. Thermal insulation makes it possible to reduce heat losses and therefore heating costs, as well as the supply of CO2 into the environment.

The Phonotamburato® is made with 4 mm thick panels (folders) made of MDF material and an internal thermal insulating fiber. By applying a surface micro-perforation, the panel acquires remarkable sound-absorbing properties. Thanks to a multitude of small perforations, the sound passes through the surface of the panel reaching a sound absorption level of up to 85%.

Floema offers 4 different types of design, allowing the creation of customized designs chosen by the customer: Trigon, Hexagon, Square, Cross.

The type of perforation also affects the level of absorption, the greater the number of holes is, the greater the consequent degree of absorption is. In addition, the holes can be applied on both sides, ensuring the maximum degree of absorption, and on one side only, ensuring sound absorption on the perforated side and insulation on the non-perforated side. Finally, the holes can have different designs, giving the panel a different and totally original configuration.

COVERINGS

Phonotamburato® panels lend themselves perfectly to covering various types of surfaces, guaranteeing absorption and thermal insulation of the environments in which they are applied.

The use of panels as cladding can vary, for example: continuous cladding and boiserie, false ceilings and slatted ceilings. Find out more in our catalogs.
